Allotments

Yaxley Parish Council has provided allotments on land at the northernmost point of the village accessed via Old Norwich Road.

Plots are available now…

If anyone is interested in taking a plot, please contact the parish council clerk, Philip Freeman, whose contact details are at the bottom of this page. Would-be allotmenteers from surrounding villages are welcome to apply. Plots on the Yaxley allotments are half the size of the nationally recognised standard plot.

With the help of grant money from the National Lottery's Awards For All scheme, the project came to fruition in April 2009. There are 30 plots in all, most of them 5 rods in area (about 150 square yards, which is half the size of what is generally regarded as a standard allotment plot.

The site can be accessed by car and there is hard standing just inside the gate that provides ample parking. A communal shed has been erected in which plot holders can store materials, equipment and tools.

If you are interested in taking an allotment please contact the Parish Clerk.
